Diminishing Nutritional Values of Australian Grown Fruit and Vegetables
Comparison between 1948 and 1991 by the C.S.I.R.O. This a copy of what the Document says, as it is difficult to read
SENATE DOCUMENT No.264
Depletion levels (percentages) US senate document No. 264 and the 1992 Earth Summit report documents declining minerals values in the farm and range soils. (Over past 100 years) North America 85%, South America 76%, Africa 74%, Europe 72%, Asia 76%, Australia 55%
The alarming fact is that food (fruit, vegetables and grains) now being raised on millions of acres of land that no longer contain enough of certain minerals are starving us -- no matter how much of them we eat, no man today can eat enough fruit and vegetables to supply his system with minerals he requires for perfect health because his stomach isn't big enough to hold them. The truth is that our foods vary enormously in value, and of they aren't worth eating as food. Our physical well being is more directly dependant upon the minerals we take into systems than upon calories or vitamins or upon the precise proportions of starch, protein or carbohydrates we consume." SENATE DOCUMENT No. 264.... 1936, Note the Date that was in 1936, and do you think it's got better since then?
The Diminishing Nutritional Values of Australian Grown Fruit and Vegetables Comparison between 1948 and 1991 by the C.S.I.R.O. These startling decreases in the nutritional values over the 43 year period are stark evidence that the quality and effectiveness of fertilizers methods, we are using are incapable of keeping up with our frequency of cropping.
